As part of the initiative “Instant Boost Asia”, the Sternchemie team in Hamburg and our colleagues at B+S Asia, led by CK Liew, are joining forces to strengthen and further expand our lecithin business across the Asia-Pacific region. By combining German product and application expertise with the deep regional market knowledge of our Asian partners, we are creating tailor-made solutions for instant food applications – from traditional liquid lecithins to highly functional, next-generation functional blends.

Led by CK Liew, the food lecithin team at B+S Asia has long been selling products from our European portfolio. However, local market needs differ substantially. Genetically modified raw materials are much more common, and instant functionality dominates our customers’ product requirements. To continue to meet market demand for safe and healthy foods that are produced competitively and sustainably, the food industry must rethink and embrace new approaches. This is where Sternchemie and B&S Asia come in: We provide market-fit solutions, from locally processed lecithins, to highly functional, value-added, natural product solutions.

- New product development: A new SternInstant blend based on PCR-negative GMO lecithin is in the works – highly functional, clean, and locally relevant.
- Market activation: Together, we will visit customers in Australia and New Zealand to identify and understand their needs, showcasing our capabilities and product solutions, and build stronger partnerships.
- Deep colaboration: Workshops, joint visits, and knowledge exchange among our teams in Malaysia and Germany help us align skills, strategy and technologies.
Medium-term, the B+S Asia team is committed to build local production capabilities in Malaysia, further enhancing supply security and customer responsiveness.
